Do I need to connect my bank?
No. You can snap receipts, forward them by email on Plus, log expenses yourself, or import past transactions. A bank connection is not required.
What happens after my 30 free scans?
Quick log keeps working, and everything you saved stays. The 30 free scans are a one-time allowance. Plus includes 400 scans a month. AI category and icon suggestions in Import use scans too; suggestions from your past records do not.
Can my partner see all my spending?
Only what’s in the spaces you share: their wallets and transactions. Spaces they haven’t joined stay private. Turning off shared logging on a wallet stops other members adding transactions to it, but it does not hide the wallet.
What if a receipt is read wrong?
You can edit the amount, date, merchant, items and category before or after saving an expense. If the photo is unclear, try again with the whole receipt in focus.
Can receipts come in by email?
Yes, on Plus. Copy your receipt address from Email receipts and forward a receipt to it. Reign reads the details and adds it to To review. You can also set up forwarding rules for specific senders or give a shop your Reign address at checkout.
I already have years of data in spreadsheets.
Import them. Reign reads CSV, TSV and Excel files, or a table you paste. It fills in what it can, including wallets, categories and transfer pairs. You check it all before you import, and you can undo an import later. Free includes 1 import a month of up to 500 rows; Plus includes 20 a month of up to 50,000 rows each.
Who reads my receipts?
Reign reads the merchant, date, amount and items automatically, using a receipt-reading service. You can check and edit what it read. Our privacy policy explains how receipt data is processed and which service providers we use.
Can I take my data out?
Yes. In Settings, request a data export. It downloads as a ZIP containing CSV files and the receipt images still stored in your account. Account deletion is also in Settings. If Plus is active, cancel the subscription and wait until it ends before requesting deletion.
Why I built Reign
Since January 2020, my partner and I have tracked what we spend. More than 13,000 transactions in six years.
Seeing where our money actually went was eye-opening. Not the big bills. The small, regular things that quietly added up.
It also changed how we plan. Once you know what a normal month costs, you can plan the bigger purchases six to twelve months ahead, instead of hoping they fit.
Tracking only works if logging is easy, so that's where I started. Snap a receipt, forward an email, import a file, and Reign remembers how you file each store.
